Chital or Axis Deer
Mary River Australian Safaris offer all year hunting for what is offen referred
to as our most beautiful deer, the Chital or Axis deer. These Indian spotted
deer are in good numbers throughout our hunting areas in Queensland, Victoria,
and the Northern Territory of Australia.
Like the Hog Sambar and Rusa Deer they have adapted to the tropical climate that exists and you will have a chance to look over many groups of stags with antlers over 30 inches. A good trophy can be obtained in 2-3 days of quietly driving / stalking the hunting areas.
The Axis is very flighty and can be most challenging to hunt.
